How if works :
A Fraxel Erbium Yag, Fraxel Erbium Glass and Fractionated CO2 laser can be used to for scar removal and resurfacing of the skin The Erbium glass laser has deeper penetration of the skin with minimal damage to the superficial layers of the skin. The Erbium Yag laser treats the more superficial layers. The heating effect and minor trauma to the skin results in new skin and increased collagen formation.
Effects :
Scar reduction and elimination. Skin resurfacing will also produce a younger looking skin with less wrinkles, tighter skin and reduced blemishes.
Side effects :
Some discomfort is felt with the procedure and topical an inhaled or intravenous analgesia can be used. There is usually redness and minor burning sensation for 1 day (Erbium glass ) and 1-4 days (Erbium yag) 5-7 days CO2 after which patients can return to work.
Cost :
This is dependent on the area treated.
Whole face – $400-600, half face $200-300. Decolletage $300-400 A minimum of 3 treatments are required for the Erbium treatments, co2 laser usually require’s only one treatment. The cost is approx double that of the Erbium treatments.
