Fat Graft
Fat Grafting >
How it works :
As we all age, there is a loss of fat in the fat pads of the face. It is one of few areas that lose fat. Most other areas seen to gain fat rather than lose it. BUT when you lose weight or fat, more appears to be lost from your face than other areas.
Perhaps the fat from your unwanted areas can be removed and injected into your face creating a double benefit. Previous methods of fat extraction and injection were unreliable due to variable cell death. The current method leads to around 80% survival of the fat transferred.
Fat is removed from your own body through a small liposuction procedure. Tumescent anaesthesia is used (local anaesthetic). The fat obtain via a fine cannulas is washed , filtered and separated. The fat and its stem cells are then activated with platelet rich plasma.
The combination is then injected into the dermis of the skin. The resultant effect is to stimulate glycan communication between the dermal and epidermal layer of the skin and to provide the skin with additional stem cells that can differentiate into new fibroblasts.
These glycans control the chemical messaging system between cells types and can cause the stem cells to differentiate into fibroblasts and other connective tissue cells. As additional stem cells have been injected into the area, the quantity and the quality of the collagen produced results in significant enhancement, repair and rejuvenation of skin elasticity and volume. In addition glycan communication and stimulation can result in existing cells producing more collagen, and performing self repair tasks.
