Breast Lift

Breast lifts can involve the removal of skin in the breast resulting in tightening and lifting of the breast. It can also be combined with removal of the breast tissue and fat – mastoplexy or be combined with implants.

How it works :

Crescent lift.

A small amount of skin above the areola is removed, and the nipple and breast is raised by suturing the areola to the skin. This is done under local anaesthesia. Cost guide $1500-2500

Donut Lift.

A circular area around the areola is removed, and the skin drawn tighter in all directions resulting in a reduction of skin on the breast. This is also performed under local anaesthesia. Cost guide $3000-4000

Vertical or Lollipop lift.

A crescent of skin above the areola is removed, and a large elipse of skin is removed under the areola. This result in a scar around the areola and a vertical scar from the areola to the breast crease. Cost guide 4500-6000 under local anaesthesia.

Anchor lift.

This is perform in the same was as the vertical lift except that there is also a horizontal incision under the breast (in the breast crease). More skin can be removed and mobilised using this technique. This is commonly combined with a breast reduction. See Breast Reduction Cost guide 6000-9000 lift only. Hospital and anaesthetic costs are additional.

Effects :

This reduction in skin results in a higher and more youthful looking breast.

Side Effects

Minor bruising after the procedure is common. There is usually some pain for 4-6 days after the procedure. Bleeding may occur however this is rare. Infection may occur and some swelling is common after the procedure. In some individuals this lasts 1-2 weeks. Some asymmetry can occur, and the areola can be distorted due to the uneven pull of different parts of the breast.

Scars will be present but most heal well and are relatively invisible. However hypertrophic and keloid scars are possible.
